The Ministry of Education has postponed the release of the 2023 Samoa National Junior Secondary (SNJS) results to next Monday due to technical errors caused by poor connectivity.

Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.), Aeau Christopher Hazelman in a livestream update explained that the release date has been moved due to technical errors with the printing system.

"School principals, students and parents are advised that due to the system printing the provisional result slips experiencing a slow connection, the 2023 Samoa National Junior Secondary (SNJSC) Year 10 Examinations cannot be released on Friday 26 January 2024 as previously announced," the notice reads.

"Instead they will be released on the following new date; SNJSC (Year 10) - Monday 29 January 2024. All school principals must uplift their results from the Assessments and Examinations Division (AED) at Malifa on the above date between 10 am and 3 pm.

"If the principal is unable, an official note signed by the principal must be presented by the person sent to uplift the results. All students must pick their results slips from their respective schools."

The notice also states that the due dates for the 2023 SNJSC recount will be available on Friday 2 February with an $8 recount fee per subject.

The notice on social media since the morning of Friday reached hundreds of parents and schools waiting for the results to know how the 2023 academic journeys of their children had been.

Faamanatu Solomona, a mother of three from from Vaivase said she had been waiting for the results this whole week with anticipation. Her 10 daughter finished Year 10 last year.

"As any parent has been, we have been waiting for the results so that we know how our kids have been performing in school last year whether they focused in school or had been skipping school," she said.

"But it's alright we only wish for nothing but the best for the Ministry so we can indeed get those results on Monday next week and plan the next academic step for our children."
