Miss Samoa Global Haylani Pearl Kuruppu made history by securing the first runner-up title at the Miss Global competition in Cambodia.
The former Miss Samoa from Moataa and Melbourne Australia has won the hearts of the people of Samoa near and far who all stayed up late to cheer for her virtually.
This remarkable achievement marks her as the first Samoan woman to attain such a prestigious placement in any global beauty pageant.
She is also the inaugural Samoan representative in the international Miss Global pageant.
Despite falling just short of the crown, her accomplishment is a groundbreaking moment for Samoa on the global stage.
