Miss Samoa Global, Haylanni Pearl Kuruppu, has not wasted any opportunity to promote Samoa on the world stage as she is the inaugural representative from Samoa to take part in the international Miss Global competition in Cambodia.

The former Miss Samoa has been actively representing her homeland and its rich cultural heritage on the global pageantry stage right from the commencement of the competition.

During the preliminary rounds conducted over the weekend, participants engaged in segments such as introductions, swimwear presentations, and evening gown showcases.

What set her apart throughout these rounds was her consistent choice to adorn a "sei" or flower on her ear every time she stepped onto the stage.

This distinctive feature not only made her stand out but also served as a poignant symbol of her cultural identity amidst the diverse group of contestants.

On her official facebook account, Ms. Kuruppu wrote: " I am the fire to ignite my Samoan women. From its ashes, a young Phoenix is born. Samoa is the hear of the Pacific, history is made."

Regardless of the competition's outcome, it is certain that she will make a lasting impression. All the participants and the millions of viewers closely following the pageant will gain a clear understanding of Samoa through her representation.

Moreover, Ms. Kuruppu has garnered substantial support from her home country and the global Samoan community. The widespread backing reflects the pride and encouragement she has received from both Samoa and Samoans residing abroad.

Telecommunication company Vodafone Samoa is the major sponsor and has initiated the idea of sending a local girl to the international beauty pageant.
