The ceremony was held at the Maota of the High Chief, Fa'aofonu'u Aiā.

Members of the clergy from the different denominations within the village officiated the ceremony and blessed the new title holders and  wished them all the best as they came forward to serve their families, village and constituency through the new titles.

Elders and matai from the village also used the opportunity to remind the new title holders that the chiefly titles are to be cherished.

They were reminded of how valuable the titles are as they as considered "measina" that belong to the family. Therefore, they should carry it with pride and take good care of it as it is part of their identity.

Nevertheless, they were also encouraged to serve with love, humility and respect. Lastly, the new title holders residing outside of Samoa were encouraged to serve the community well through their new titles.
