It was a memorable moment for Seunu’u’s family when his name was called and he was announced as the top student of Apia Primary School.

His family members stoop up to clap and cheer him on, knowing this was work well done by the 13-year-old.

Seunu'u's and other students' sweet triumphs were celebrated by parents, friends, and educators at a gathering held at the Maluafou College Hall on Tuesday.

The 13-year-old topped his class to come first in English, Science and Social Studies. He collected his certificates at the prize-giving on Tuesday.

Despite all the challenges through his primary school journey, Seunu'u says he is glad to have come out on top as this was hard work and required him to be dedicated to his studies.

Seunu'u gave thanks to God for his mercy, wisdom and guidance that helped get his achievements while sending love to his parents, family and friends for their support.

“It has been a difficult journey, and I have faced numerous challenges along the way, but all glory and respect belong to God, who has guided me through all of these hardships and helped me get this far,” he said.

“I would also like to acknowledge the love and the support from my family, friends and teachers for being part of my journey, thank you so much and may our God bless you all abundantly.

“Seeing my parents happy makes me the happiest child, because this is one of their dreams and I am glad that I made them proud."

His father, Iakopo Leleimalefaga said his son’s success had brought excitement and joy to the family and he will continue to support him on his academic journey which will begin next year.

"As parents, we always hope that our kids will achieve and reciprocate the favour of all the hard work and effort we put in to help them achieve their goals,” he said.

“The good news is that he made it to Samoa College as well, I believe it’s going to be a new experience for him, so we will continue to support him with his new journey next year.”

Seunu'u aspires to be a doctor in the future. It is dream to follow his father’s footstep and to serve the people of Samoa.

The young man has topped his every class from Year One to Year Eight. This was also history for Apia Primary School.

Seunu’u message for his fellow students is to be strong and have faith in whatever they do, because success requires honesty and commitment especially, when it comes to studies and school related activities.
