Janey loves her Samoan adventures
Janey Forrest, a 54-year-old from Auckland, New Zealand has been fascinated by Samoa and decided to explore the culture, environment and people of this tiny nation in the Pacific.
She is here with her daughter Sophie and granddaughters, Ruby and Sophie Meadem. They have been to Saletoga Sand Resort on their first day and will be moving to Coconut Resort to explore more tourist attractions and culture in Samoa.
Mrs. Forrest said this is her third journey to Samoa and that she chose to bring them along because she had visited a lot of beautiful places on her last trip.
“This is my third time here so I decided to bring my daughter and granddaughters to have a visit for their first time on the beautiful islands of Samoa,” she said.
“We love driving around to get the sense of what it must be like to grow up in the Samoan way because you see the villages, the fales and it is quite a cultural experience.”
Ms. Forrest told the Samoa Observer that she was excited about their journey so far which has just been two days so far and that she is looking forward to more.
“Our first full day here, we went to the Eastern end of the island, and went on a boat trip over to the little island. And that was amazing to see turtles and it was beautiful,” she said. “And then on our second day we went to To Sua Trench which was incredible so we’re looking forward to exploring more.”
Janey Forrest has been to Rarotonga, Tonga and Niue but Samoa is her favourite place to be because of its people, culture and her favorite food, Samoan oka and a dish of taro leaves with coconut cream.
She recommends observing every landmark, with the sea and culture being the most appealing aspects of Samoa.
