Three members of the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services have returned home following successful completion of the Leaders Training Course in New Caledonia.
Participants from a variety of nations participated in the Leaders Training Course conducted by the French Army's Commando training. Among the nations that participated in the training course were the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, and France.
The primary objectives of this training course were to improve officers' leadership abilities and enhance their fighting spirit. Additionally, the course aimed to develop personal resilience in fatigue situations and extend tactical skills.
The training course focused on several key areas, including operation planning and execution, tactical combat, tactical drills, and commando mission techniques. Participants were trained in various skills such as kayak, rafting, motorized boat, helicopter, and combat. Additionally, they learned nautical and bush assault techniques, jungle and night combat strategies, tactical camping, and aerial crossing and rappelling methods.
This Leaders Training Course holds significant importance as it marks the first of its kind in New Caledonia. By bringing together military personnel from different nations, this course not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also fostered camaraderie and collaboration among participants.
The "Knowing Each Other to Fight Together" motto of the training course reflects the emphasis placed on building strong and cohesive teams. By understanding each other's strengths and capabilities, participants were better equipped to work together effectively in combat situations.
