“ Of course my parents, they are here, who talked to me about it, who prayed for me, my family and friends, different people who encouraged me along the way. But that’s my story, not mine, but God’s grace that brought me through and the people who supported me because they are from my village, they are my community and if it was not for them, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this.

She said it was a challenging journey for her, because the job is more suitable for men than for women and it requires a lot of commitment in training.

"I have always felt like giving up during training when I realised that this job is suitable for men, not for a woman like me, and it takes a lot of commitment to meet the criteria of the course," she said.

Gaula's father, Misilei Fa'aofo, thanked God for hearing their prayers and gave thanks to everyone who assisted her daughter in achieving her objectives.

Mr. Fa’aofo promised that he will play his role as a father to support his daughter and encourage her to carry out her duties with manners and respect.

"God heard our prayers, and I thank Him for His kindness. I also want to thank everyone who has supported my daughter in her journey thus far," he said.

"And as a father, I will never stop encouraging my daughter to follow her moral convictions and treat people with respect, because it is not an easy job for her and I believe she’s going to be a good officer to serve our people.”

According to Ms. Gaula, her achievement can be an inspiration story for our young people who are facing challenges to do their best and have hope in God for He will make everything’s possible
