Local trainers sign off on first graduates
Local Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Service (SPPCS) trainers have signed off on their first motorcycle and defensive driving graduates.
A total of nine SPPCS members graduated recently and were among the first to be taught by local trainers and instructors with their special training part of Samoa's preparations to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024.
In a statement released on Monday, the SPPCS said it is happy to announce the successful completion of the motorcycle and defensive driving course for its first nine graduates.
"These individuals have dedicated themselves to intensive training conducted by our highly skilled and qualified trainers/instructors from SPPCS," the statement reads. "As part of the preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024, our team of instructors will continue to conduct numerous trainings with our staff members.
"This training will ensure that our team is well-prepared and equipped to handle the demands of this prestigious event. Their commitment and dedication throughout the training process have been commendable, and they have demonstrated exceptional skills in motorcycle riding and defensive driving techniques.
We are proud of their accomplishments and confident that they will make significant contributions to ensuring the safety and security of CHOGM 2024. Their expertise in motorcycle riding and defensive driving will be invaluable in managing traffic and providing efficient security measures during the event."
The first nine graduates comprised eight male police officers and one female officer. The SPPCS while extending its congratulations to the nine graduates commended their hard work, determination, and commitment to enhancing their skills in motorcycle riding and defensive driving.
