Enhancing knowledge and skills of learners and educators in the Post School Education and Training Providers conference is the mantra behind the two-day high-level discussion which commenced on Wednesday at the Taumeasina Island Resort.

This is spearheaded by the Samoa Qualification Authority. Guided by the theme, "Empowering P.S.E.T. Learners and Educators in Samoa '', the conference brought together a community of educators, learners, policy makers and industry experts who will be sharing ideas on the development of P.S.E.T. in Samoa.

In his keynote address, Minister for Education Seu'ula Ioane spoke about the importance of post-school education and training in Samoa.

Seu'ula said the conference was a milestone giving recognition to the transformative power of education in shaping Samoa’s future.

"The importance of Quality and Relevant Post School Education and Training can never be stressed enough," said Seu'ula.

"In this dynamic landscape of education, training, and employment innovation, knowledge and technology are the cornerstones of progress.

"It is our priviledge to bring together our community of educators, learners, policy makers and industry experts. Together, we endeavour to explore innovating approaches, best practices, and forward-thinking strategies that will enable us to empower both learners and educators, paving the way to a brighter future for Samoa.

"Over the next two days, we will explore the many dimensions of empowerment, examining how modern educational paradigms can unlock the potential of our learners and educators alike.

"As we delve into discussions on program enhancement, technology integration, and teaching methodologies, let us remember that our conversations have the potential to positively impact the many generations to come."

Seu'ula then used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the organisers and the speakers local and international for being part of this year's conference.

He also extended his appreciation to the Australian Pacific Training Coalition for sponsoring part of the conference.

"Your dedication to education and training and your unwavering support have played a major role in bringing us all together.

The Chief Executive Officer of S.Q.A., Tupa'i Peter Peilua delivered a presentation on the progress of the P.S.E.T. conference 2021 outcome statement.
