Saturday's Motherland Samoa concert in the Samoan capital Apia is looking to be a sellout, according to the agency behind the cultural music festival, PacifiCast.

The concert, which will be staged at the Apia Park stadium, will celebrate Pacific heritage and reconnect communities to the homeland of Samoa according to a press release issued on Thursday.

Motherland Samoa will be hosted by Dr Tua and will feature a lineup of globally renowned Pacific artists. Among the featured performers are Fiji, J Boog, HP Boyz, Lisi, Savage, DJ Noiz, Kennyon Brown, Tomorrow People, Bina Butta, Wayno, Lani Alo, DJ Tikelz, DJ 651, Donell Lewis, Mautaotasi & Matalenaa, Pacific Love Band, Rellek Brown, Tree, Zipso, DJ Kayoz, and DJ Wreckah.

PacifiCast Founder, Julius Tuigamala, reaffirmed the agency's dedication to collaborating with governments and communities and said their aim is to showcase and uplift Pacific Islander culture and talent globally, while also driving positive transformation and enhancing the well-being of individuals in the Pacific region and diasporas.

“PacifiCast is dedicated to cultivating meaningful connections and fostering lasting relationships through our flagship event, the Motherland Samoa Music Festival, as well as festivals and other strategic initiatives in the future," Mr Tuigamala said.

“Our overarching goal is to not only unite the Pacific Islands but also establish enduring partnerships with Australia, New Zealand, and other prominent nations. By doing so, we actively contribute to the preservation of cultures of the Pacific Island diaspora residing in these nations.”

“It is with great privilege that we collaborate with esteemed partners, including the Australian High Commission and New Zealand High Commission, among others.

"These invaluable partnerships enable Pacificast to bridge the gap and extend our support to the Pacific people living abroad. Through these collaborations, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange and foster a sense of unity among diverse communities.”

The concert has generated an overwhelming response from both domestic and international audiences, said PacifiCast. The offer of complimentary general admission tickets has undoubtedly created an irresistible opportunity. As the organiser, PacifiCast has deliberately made this decision to ensure the local community thrives economically while also providing a platform for Pacific artists to be celebrated and enjoyed by everyone.

The music festival was designed with the aim of providing a fully immersive cultural experience and celebration, as well as offering the audience an opportunity to reconnect with and return to their Motherland. The overwhelmingly positive response has reinforced the vision by igniting travel, community engagement, and business collaborations.

Given the limited opportunities for travel in recent years, ticket holders have expressed their gratitude for the festival, which has allowed them to plan a return trip to Samoa, spend quality time with their families and celebrate Samoa’s 61st Independence anniversary on home soil.

This sentiment also extends to the artists performing at Motherland Samoa, as many of them have brought their families along to share in the festival and their time in Samoa. In fact, most artists have chosen to extend their stay to reconnect with family and fully experience beautiful Samoa.

The Motherland Samoa Music Festival is made possible with the support of the Government of Samoa through the Samoa Tourism Authority as well as local businesses: Taumeasina Island Resort, Vodafone Samoa, Humbl, Naydith, KL security, Dawg Audio, Aunty Bevs catering and All things Sweet cafe.
