Samoan hip-hop artist to tour Australia, N.Z.
Samoa’s very own hip-hop artist Mr. Tee will make his first headline tour to Australia and New Zealand to bring his music to fans who have asked for him to visit.
It was through Purely Reggae Samoa that Seiuli Teramo Iosefo, better known as Mr. Tee is able to headline his first tour internationally.
The owner of Purely Reggae Samoa, Tagaloasa Henry Wulf, who is also his manager, said this tour has been in the planning for a few months now. Mr. Tee has also returned from his most recent tour to American Samoa.
“We were able to collaborate with the Nesian touring New Zealand company based in Auckland and through them, we are able to visit his fans and loyal supporters in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch,” Tagaloasa said.
The last song he released last year is titled “Pitonuu Solosolo” with the music video already logging over 2.4 million views on YouTube.
“I thank God for this opportunity to tour Australia and New Zealand, especially for how well my last song took off,” he said. “Every time my song is played, people all over the world will also get to know about Samoa, and it’s only by the grace of God that everything worked out with that song."
Mr. Tee also said that he would also be releasing a new song on the tour titled "Faataua le Avanoa" and says there is a message behind it.
“The message behind that song is for those listening to take every chance and opportunity given to them because some of them only come once in a lifetime,” said the artist.
Tagaloasa said there are a lot of Samoan artists out there with talent and this tour is also an opportunity they can take to tour and also perform their music.
“If you have the talent, don’t be afraid to use it. The door of opportunity is still open and being able to perform on stage will give you the necessary experience to get better,” he said
Purely Reggae Samoa is well known for its part in bringing artists to visit Samoa. One of Samoa’s biggest concerts was held in 2012 when UB40 performed at Apia Park as part of Samoa's 50th Independence anniversary.
