L.T.A boss achieves another goal
"Even though I have become a leader in one of the government ministries, there's always room for improvements."
This was a statement from Galumalemana Titi Agnes Tutuvanu-Schwalger after receiving her Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administrations.
Talking to the Samoa Observer, the Chief Executive Officer of the Land and Transport Authority said no one is too old to learn.
She added that the courses she had been undertaking will definitely help widen her knowledge within her respective field, improve her performance at work, and to carry out her responsibilities in an effective way to enhance her service for the betterment of Samoa as a whole.
Galumalemana mentioned that budgeting the time was a challenge for she had to work, engage in family obligations, look after her children and focus on assignments.
"Most of my classes are in the evening five days of the week. Sometimes, I felt so tired from work, I felt like giving up because I needed to rest so that I manage to take good care of my health," she said.
"Despite time management issues, I have a huge support system that has my back. My relatives and friends were willing to help look after my children to allow much time for me to concentrate on studies."
The mother of four said her journey could set an example for not only her staff but her young children as well.
"As a mother and as a leader, I want people who are looking up to me to feel inspired by this humble journey by not just sitting at where they are, but keep on building ourselves with all opportunities open to us to take another step forward in life," she said.
"I want my children to know that it is never easy to find a peaceful and a successful life, therefore, I will not stop here until I get that Masters in Business and Administrations, and I look forward to seeing my children follow my footsteps."
Her parents and family are in Australia and she is the only one staying in Samoa.
Her advice to young people is to prioritise education for it is the key to making all their wishes and dreams come true, not forgetting that they have to give back to their families and communities.
