Peak hour crash cause mayhem

You have to be very careful in the morning traffic, a small accident can cause a major jam and this what happened on Wednesday morinng.
The usual road traffic from Le Papaigalagala towards Apia and Vaitele had worsened around 8am due to a car coalition at an intersection in Motootua.
A maroon Honda Fit which was making a left turn at the intersection going towards the hospital had crashed into a blue Ford Ranger which was coming from the hospital and was taking a right turn at the intersection.
The Ranger which was driven by a woman sustained minor scratches from the crash while the smaller vehicle driven by a man had major damages on its front end.
Police officers who were controlling the traffic around the area intervened to direct traffic and keep the flow going. Police who were called up to conductcnormal investigations at the accident scene.
Meanwhile, a bystander who was waiting for a bus at the terminal near the intersection told this newspaper that the queue of vehicles coming from all sides had were half an hour long as people were moving slower as it was peak traffic time.
"It was jammed on the road this morning because the roads especially the one coming from Malifa because of the crash. Fortunately, the Ford Ranger had minor crashes so it was able to drive on its own to the side of the road to make way while the small car had to be pushed to the side of the road," Tumua Faaiu explained.
"This is something our government has to look into, the traffic every morning because even before the crash, it's always jammed on this side and I know because I'm always catching my bus here."
