Despite Samoa experiencing a heavy rain this week, the Samoa Meteorological Division in its weekly forecast reported that Samoa will experience warmer than usual temperatures in the coming months between April and June.

S.M.D clarified the temperature outlook as 'warmer than normal temperature' adding that normal rainfall conditions will still be expected.

"Samoa is anticipating warmer than normal conditions in the next three months, with a high a high confidence as suggested by the ACCESS models," notice reads.

"The skill of the model is exceptional for both scale temperatures in the April to June 2023 season."

Meanwhile, heavy rainfall advisory remains effective for all land areas of Samoa with the moist northerly wind-flow continuing to prevail across Samoa ushering clouds and showers with heavy falls at times over the group.

In addition, the convergence zone lying south is predicted to move over the group later today and may bring isolated showers with brief heavy falls in some areas and a few thunderstorms possible.

Potential Impacts: Heavy downpours with poor visibility, foggy and slippery roads over mountain passes and ranges, pooling near roadsides and waterways, and landslides. Expect gusty winds at times

Earlier this week, Samoa experienced moderate showers while heavy rain advisories were issued by the Meteorology Division for saoa.

"According to the latest weather map indicating a moist Northeast wind flow continuing to prevail over the group, thus, directs isolated showery activities along with afternoon convections with a few thunderstorms and gusty periods over elevated areas. Henceforth, the Heavy Rain Advisory remains valid for all land areas of Samoa."
