Samoa Super rugby tickets start at $10
As Samoa gears up to host the Super Rugby when the Moana Pasifika host the Queensland Reds at Apia Park on 14 April this year, tickets are sale now starting at $10.
Digicel Samoa advertised the tickets on Thursday last week on their social media platforms adding that tickets will be available starting next week at any of their retail stores.
Samoa will get its second taste of Super Rugby when the Moana Pasifika host the Queensland Reds at Apia Park next month, taking over from Fiji who has been hosting Super Rugby games since 2016.
It is anticipated that it will be a well participated event next month as well as a fast selling of tickets being sold at an affordable price.
Moana Pasifika and Fijian Drua being confirmed part of Super Rugby until 2030 is seen as a boosted pathway for local rugby players in Samoa, Tonga and Fiji to progress into the professional scene.
The original deal would have had the two most exciting teams of the competition play until 2024 but this all changes. This also means that more Super Rugby games are headed to Samoa and Fiji.
“Finally, our dream to play on Samoan soil will come true. It has been our ambition from the very start to bring the competition to our home nations,” says Moana Pasifika chair Savae Sir Michael Jones.
“To play in front of our Samoan people and fans is a very special moment for Moana Pasifika as our people and our heritage are our inspiration and motivation. Our players can’t wait to play “at home” in front of family, aiga our Samoan community and make them proud, displaying everything that is unique and special about Pacific Island rugby as we take on the Reds.”
The game will surely be exciting as the Moana Pasifika side brings a wealth of experience and talent to the pitch. The team has players such as Samoan-born Miracle Fai’ilagi, and rugby great Samoan Christian Lealiifano who has surpassed an incredible 150 games in Super Rugby. A further 14 Moana Pasifika players were in the winning Manu Samoa squad in the Pacific Nations Cup (PNC) last year.
