Websafe Samoa was founded by two Samoan cybersecurity specialists, Jobenz Manoa and Suetena Faatuuala Loia who were determined to make a difference in the fight against cyber threats on small island countries like Samoa. 

With their combined expertise and passion for building a safer Pacific, they have created a tailored training program to help private companies in Samoa better understand and protect themselves against cybersecurity threats.

"Over the past six months, Websafe Samoa has been conducting cybersecurity training for some of the private companies in the country. The training has covered a wide range of topics that are essential for building a strong foundation in cybersecurity, and the participants have gained a valuable understanding of how to keep their systems and electronic data safe," said Mr. Manoa.

"One of the key areas of focus in the training include authentication methods, communication security, environment security and incident response."

It is understood that the strategies help companies and businesses to ensure they verify the identity of their users especially access to confidential and sensitive information, teaching staff how to protect themselves from hackers and other outside sources who can try and exploit them. 

"The training also examines environmental security including network, server and device security and the importance of protection measures including firewalls, anti-virus software and access controls," said Mr. Manoa. 

"The training covers incident responses in the event that a cyber breach were to take place within the business."

The training provided by Websafe Samoa has been essential for helping private companies in Samoa be better prepared for any national-level cybersecurity incident. By the end of the training, the country and its companies were much better equipped to face such events by way of cyberspace according to Mr. Manoa.

Looking to the future, Websafe Samoa is considering how it can support other countries in the region to do the same thing it is doing in Samoa. By extending its support in building a safer Pacific and training a workforce that is cybersecurity aware, Websafe Samoa is helping to create a more secure and resilient region for all. 

The founders of Websafe Samoa are proud of the work they have done so far, and they are determined to continue making a positive impact in the fight against cyber threats.

Mr Manoa is an experienced Information Communication Technology Officer with extensive experience working in the information technology and services industry. He is also skilled in Cybersecurity, Computer Networking, Computer Hardware Troubleshooting, Troubleshooting, Internet Troubleshooting, and Networking. He has a Masters in Cyber Security from The University of Waikato.

His Managing Partner, Suetena Faatuuala Loia is a Cyber Security analyst, a web programmer, a network consultant and a cyber security consultant.
