Police unite lost boy with family
The good work of the Samoa Police, Prisons and Correction Services led to a child being united with his family.
The incident happened on Christmas Day when police officers in Apia was contacted by a member of the public.
According to the police, the boy was found by a family at Vailele wandering all by himself on Christmas Day.
Police have thanked kind Samaritan for contacting them on the matter.
The police then acted quickly by posting the child’s pictures on social media hoping that someone will recognise him and alert his parents.
“Please contact our headquarters if anyone has any information that may assist us in identifying this child and locate his relatives,” the police had posted on their social media page.
This quick action allowed the relatives of the boy, Taialaogaluegafaamisionare to contact the police and have him reunited with his parents later in the evening.
“Samoa Police, Prisons and Correction Services wish to thank the public for your kind assistance, which led to SPPCS reuniting this young boy with his worried parents,” said the police.
“Samoa Police, Prisons and Correction Services notified the parents soon after receiving information from the public.
“The parents are pleased to have their son and are grateful that he is well.”
As another busy long weekend approaches and Apia will be a hive of activity, the Samoa Police advises the public, parents and families to keep the young ones close and safe, preventing any incidents from arising.
“Keep your children safe and Keep Samoa safe!” said the police.
