All children look forward to Christmas, even the ones at the Campus of Hope. Telecommunication company Digicel and Lava Hotel made sure that they were given a treat before Christmas.

The Chairman of the Digicel and Lava Hotel board, Leaupepe Christian Fruean with the management and staff of Digicel put together a lovely event for the Children of Hope on Monday night.

“You are always on our minds, and members of the community have joined us in putting together all the gifts under the Christmas tree, especially for you,” Leaupepe told the children.

The Digicel team had put in a lot of effort for the Lava Hotel Christmas Tree event for the children.

This has been a long standing tradition for the Hotel and the Digicel company to treat the children every year.

The children were treated to a movie night, some wonderful treats, followed by a presentation of Christmas gifts, dinner before a fun bus ride back to the Campus of Hope.

The Samoa Victim Support Group are very grateful for the kind gesture that the Lava Hotel and Digicel company do for the kids. They regard them as family. 

S.V.S.G thanked all the companies, individuals and friends who contributed to getting the children Christmas presents this year. 

The children of the Campus of Hope have a lot of support from the public in regards to donations through out the year. Digicel and Lava Hotel are a few of the many kind hearted supporters who always remember the children during this season.

There are almost 60 children who are being provided shelter at the Campus of Hope. Most the children are either victims of physical or sexual abuse or their parents are incarcerated.

S.V.S.G has predicted that there would be an increase in violence in home incidents during the festive period as more alcohol will be consumed.
