The Samoa National Provident Fund (S.N.P.F.) has announced that the remaining 2.0 per cent dividend payout for this financial year is scheduled for next month.

In a press release issued on Tuesday afternoon, the S.N.P.F. management also said the cash payment will now only be available online through the fund's online portal.

The online portal for its members' dividend payout will open next Thursday 1 December 2022 and close Wednesday 23 December 2022.

"The dividend will not be available for physical redemption at any of our branches at any time," reads the S.N.P.F. press release.

"Therefore, all members must use their S.N.P.F. number and password to login. If you have forgotten your login credentials – please visit any of our branches in person for assistance to reissue your credentials."

The announcement by the S.N.P.F. management of the final 2 per cent dividend payment to its members comes five months after the last payment was processed in July this year.

The disbursement of the interest to members for this financial year is as follows: $24.4 million (3.0 per cent) paid in cash to members on 12 April 2022, $26.03 million (3.2 per cent) paid in cash to members starting 1 July 2022 (ending 29 July 2022) and a total of $16.27 million (2.0 per cent) paid in cash to members on 1 December 2022.

The last highest S.N.P.F. dividend payout was for the 2019-2020 fiscal year with total interests injected into the local economy this year in the vicinity of $60 million tala.

S.N.P.F. members who do not access their dividend payment through the online portal will see the payments added to their savings. Out of the fund's 32,000-plus registered members, over 31,000 have already registered on the online portal.
