Parade goes Toa-crazy

Samoa went into a Toa-crazy mode as people young and old took to the streets of Apia in their cars, to show their support for the Toa Samoa, with many having the belief that this could be Samoa's year to beat England and perhaps win the Rugby League World Cup.

Cars with flags, boys and girls on the back of trucks and some even going to the extent of painting their cars the same colour as the national flag.

Most of the action took place around the Town Clock area, with die hard supporters screaming at the top of their lungs performing the siva tau in unison.

It was a sight to behold. Family and friends excitedly waved at passing vehicles decked out in red flags, furiously waving in the air, followed by the occasional 'chehoo' scream.

The Samoa Police Service was present in large numbers throughout the town maintaining law and order and controlling the crowd. The boys in blue ensuring that the electric atmosphere remained unperturbed.

Loud music played from speakers and sirens perhaps the only time some of the vehicle owners allowed to show the full potential of their speaker system.

The children also got into the action as they took to the streets in shopping trolleys and wheel barrows hopping to get their 15 seconds of fame with multiple clicks on their videos from the Samoan diaspora watching online.

The Parade started up at Tuanaimato before making its way in to town with the help and direction of the Samoa Police Service.

For many fans, Toa Samoa had already created history by reaching the semi-final of the Rugby League World Cup.
