My Samoa today II
Dear Editor,
General policing/traffic: A waste of space! I mentioned in my last letter about the lack of enthusiasm for:
Loud music from vehicles and premises. Now, despite a hand-delivered letter to the Police Commissioner, multiple phone calls to the police and a Letter to the Editor, no action! On Saturday afternoon, whilst working opposite The BSP car park, a car drove past twice with loud music shaking the building.
On Monday afternoon on Beach Road, a vehicle drove up and down with the building shaking bass. In the early mornings around 0530/0600 in Alafua/Sinamoga, bass music from what can only be a bus announcing its arrival. When are the police going to stop ignoring this blatant disregard for the law and do what they are employed to do? The site in Alafua where the music was coming from at the time of writing is a vacant lot with a new block wall around three sides.
Red Light cameras. No apparent action here. I was almost killed (again) at the Vaimoso intersection around 3 pm Monday with a vehicle going through a red light coming from Town at least TEN seconds after I received the green light.
This is just not good enough, Mr Commissioner. Your written response in the Samoa Observer would really be appreciated
