Escaping from prison
Dear Editor,
Some years ago when the prison was still at Tafaigata, I had an interview with a gentleman of authority there on the matter of prison security.
I discussed with him the ins and outs of this and made a few suggestions which he greatly appreciated.
“Unfortunately,” said he, we don’t have any money, we can’t even afford to buy water tanks to maintain a backup supply of water. This of course was all remedied with the introduction of the new Tanumalala (Lala would be a better name) which was put into service with part of the wall missing.
If the building is planned properly, and proper security equipment is installed along with a few other small items then there is no way anyone can get out. A shame my suggestions weren’t taken up. Being in the security business, I am fully aware of how escapes can be brought to a full stop.
BUT WHO CARES!!!!
