Church College Pesega Display Day

On September 13, 2024, Church College Pesega hosted its annual Display Day, a vibrant and educational event that began with a morning devotion. The devotion set a positive tone, officially opening the day filled with wonderful presentations from each department.

The TVET Department was impressed with their Engineering section, where students showed off their skills by building model cars and installing speakers in vehicles. In the Kitchen Operations booth, delicious food was prepared and sold, demonstrating students' impressive cooking abilities. The Tourism & Hospitality section welcomed everyone with warmth and professionalism, showcasing table setting, bed making, and other hospitality-related tasks. Carpentry students proudly displayed their unique furniture and artwork, showing off their creativity and craftsmanship.

Health & Physical Education promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle. They emphasized that eating well and exercising are key to living a more energetic and fulfilling life. The Mathematics Department highlighted how mathematics is essential in everyday life, proving that math is everywhere, from simple tasks to complex decisions.

The English Department promoted the idea that "English is your passport around the world." They creatively engaged students in fun games to emphasize the importance of learning English as a global language. The Computer Department displayed various computer components and explained their functions, sparking curiosity about technology.

One of the most memorable booths was the Seminary booth. Students were invited to share their testimonies about Jesus Christ on a board. This booth stood out because it reminded everyone of the importance of balancing life spiritually and physically.

The Arts Department showcased Samoa's rich history, offering insights into life in the olden days and presenting interesting topics like volcanoes and how they function. The Science Department focused on the human body, explaining how it's made up of different systems and particles. They also raised awareness about climate change, especially how plastic pollution harms the environment.

In the Samoa Department, the school’s cultural heritage came alive with traditional performances, including the Siva Samoa and ava ceremonies. They also displayed ancient tools and instruments used by our ancestors.

The Business and Commerce Department taught the importance of hard work, especially in small businesses. They had set up stalls to sell food, demonstrating how entrepreneurship works in the real world.

After a full day of displays, the afternoon was dedicated to a sports award ceremony, where students who excelled not only in school competitions but also in representing Samoa internationally were recognized. This was a time to inspire other students, showing them that there is always more to achieve in sports.

The day concluded with a musical celebration in the school gymnasium. The Music Department showcased different genres of music, songs, and dances from various countries, providing a lively and memorable end to the event.

Display Day 2024 was a wonderful experience filled with learning, creativity, and inspiration. It was a busy but exciting day that students will remember for a long time.
