Racism is an act that is based on prejudice, stereotyping or assumptions due to a person's race, ethnicity, or national origin. Samoa is a small island country located in the South Pacific and is widely renowned for its breathtaking views, rich culture and friendly people. However, it is not immune to the vices of racism. The need for the elimination of racism in Samoa has never been more critical than now.

First, it's important to understand that racism poses several threats to the peace, stability, and progress of Samoa. The negative impact of racism can be seen in the society, education, and economic sectors. Racism creates division and segregation in the community, which ultimately affects the peace of the society. Moreover, racism limits educational opportunities and career progressions for people, leading to a decrease in the economy's human resource pool. These negative effects on Samoan society make it essential to eliminate racism.

Secondly, racism is against human rights, which means that every human is entitled to an equal and fair share of opportunities and treatment regardless of their race or color. Racism goes against these human rights foundations of fairness and equity, and therefore, it should be eliminated wherever it is found. Racism denies people their inherent value, and the dignity they deserve as human beings, which is wrong and against the very principles of humanity.

Thirdly, Samoa is known for its hospitality as a Polynesian country, thus being disrespectful to others, especially the locals, ought not to be condoned. Therefore, there is a need to extinguish racism to keep Samoa friendly and hospitable to all. Tourists from all over the world have made Samoa their destination of choice because of the welcoming nature of Samoans. Racism would destroy that image, and the country would lose potential tourists.

Fourth, the elimination of racism in Samoa would signify the country's growth as a nation. Samoa is rich in cultural diversity with people from different races and ethnicities. It is essential that society integrates diversity and celebrates cultural differences instead of promoting discrimination. Samoa can only improve by having a tolerant society. Being open-minded about differences and accepting them could spark a change that would help Samoa meet its goals and ensure its residents' well-being.

Lastly, eliminating racism in Samoa would not only benefit the country's economy and progress, but it would also set a standard for other nations struggling with discrimination issues. Samoa could use its experience to educate other countries about the ills of racism and how to deal with them successfully. Samoa could be an example of diplomacy, network, business and economic growth, and an advocate for fairness and justice.

In conclusion, the menace of racism could destroy the progress of Samoa, its tourism industry, its society's hospitality and Polynesian cultural diversity. This essay has argued that racism should be eliminated in Samoa. Such a move is essential, not just for the nation's growth and progress but for humanity in general. Samoa must rise and abolish racism, and set an example
