ROUNDED UP

Good work by the boys in blue in rounding up a group of youth near the Fugalei Market area who were allegedly involved in illegal activities. The group of officers tactically rounded up the youth, ensuring no one was able to run away.

NEW BODY

A bill is being drafted to have a body look after the district councils. There is no word yet on how it will be funded and how much extra it would cost. There seems to be a lot of money in the coffers, or is there?

THREE DAYS

Three days of celebrations will mean a lot of spending. It will also mean a holiday for government workers.

CYCLONE

There is a cyclone in the region. Last time it was checked, Cyclone Urmil was more than 2,000 kilometres away and poses no threat. There will be some rain, though.

AGAIN

Dubious taxi drivers are at it again. Thinking the passenger was a foreigner, the driver attempted to charge him double. Let’s just say the passenger had kind words for the driver and a reminder that such actions are letting the good ones down.

OVERLOADED

Checks are needed at various locations to ensure that buses are not being overloaded. Some passengers are packed like sardines. Public transportation safety is put at risk every day.
