Between the Lines
CALLED
Top guns from the airport were sighted at the main government office on Thursday. It must have been an urgent call-up to discuss the recent hikes and question why the airline was the first to highlight the development.
ASSAULT
The lack of action by the head of law enforcement on his officers' shoving and pushing journalists was expected. The Crimes Act states that such an action is assault and a criminal offence. What could be the reason for the silence?
PROGRESS
It was announced last week that the progress of a probe into a police officer losing his life would be made public this week. If anyone has heard anything, do let others know.
TRAFFIC
Are there too many vehicles and too few roads? That is what some people are saying. Soon, traffic will no longer be an issue; it will become a lifestyle, and some will even find things to do while waiting for the congestion to move an inch.
LEARNING
Learning disability could be a national problem. The evidence is out there. People know litter is not meant to be thrown around but very few are able to learn this. If people do not stop this habit, they should not complain about blocked drains.
BUS FARES
Will increasing bus fares improve public transportation, passenger safety and cut down on overcrowding? Or it will just help increase profits while passengers still get the same treatment?
