First time visitor to Samoa, Ludo Audet from France, says he would not change anything about Samoa.

The 24-year-old has been in Samoa for the past 10 days. The Dear Tourist team met him at the Samoa Tourism Authority Cultural Village in Apia.

“Originally I am from France but I have worked in New Zealand for a year now and that is how I came across finding Samoa as a possible tourist destination,” Ludo said.

“I thought of taking a break so I am here in Samoa for a three weeks holiday.”

“I am currently staying at Olivia’s Accommodation, which is located in Matautu and that is quite convenient because it’s within the town area, which is fitting when I would like to do some shopping,” Ludo said.

He said for the first three days since he arrived, he had the chance to visit Lalomanu beach.

“It was sad because when we got there it was raining and it seemed it was not a good time.”

“We also had went to Savaii and stayed at Falealupoa and Manase. I noticed that there were not many tourists there,” he said.

Ludo said his favourite Samoan food so far is raw fish with coconut cream.

“If the weather is good I would try going to the other side of Upolu and maybe stay there.”

“I would not change anything about Samoa, I wish for it to stay the same way so it will retain its natural beauty.”

“Samoa’s climate is very refreshing. It suits the natural beauty it comes along with.”

Ludo said he finds the Samoan people unique as well because of their warm and welcoming hospitality.

“Samoa is a small island nation made up of smaller islands, but it holds a very special place in the Pacific - it is the uniqueness of its culture whether it is displayed through its traditional dances or songs.”

“I admire the importance of family within the Samoan culture. The elders have the highest form of respect given to them and that they are taken care of by the whole family throughout their whole lives,”

Ludo said it is not something you can find everywhere, which is a bonus for those who live in Samoa.

“I will definitely come back when I have the chance; it is worth experiencing countless times because I still can’t get enough of Samoa’s breathtaking natural beauty.”
