The nine Miss Samoa contestants visited the headquarters of the pageant’s major sponsor, Samoa Shipping Corporation, yesterday.

They were taken on a tour of the facility and interacted with the employees including Samoa Shipping Corporation (S.S.C.) Chief Executive Officer Papalii Willie Nansen.

Speaking on behalf of the Work, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Papaliitele Niko Lee Hang, the C.E.O. said the corporation was honoured to be part of the pageant.

“As the main sponsor for this year’s pageant, we are honoured and looking forward in being inclusive with this year’s pageant.

“We always like bringing residents to Savai’i but not only that we are always supportive about any events in Savai’i.

“With the historical milestone of the pageant being hosted in the big island, it will give the people living in Savai’i a great chance to be exposed to so many opportunities,” he said.

Miss Salimu Fagaloa, Dolores Cassandra Satiu Cufi thanked the corporation on behalf of her colleagues and expressed their appreciation with the decision by the S.S.C.  to support the pageant.

The pageant will be held in Savai'i for the first time in all its 33-year history hence the reference to it by the S.S.C. Chief Executive Officer.

The corporation has over the last 40 years provided local and regional shipping services around Samoa as well as Tokelau, the Swain Islands and Cook Islands.
