Samoa’s Olympic heroine, Ele Opeloge,  has made good on her promise to visit those who have given to her.

Yesterday, she visited Vaiala Beach School who contributed $1,003 to the Samoa Observer’s Ele Fund. The visit marked the beginning of several visits Ele will make over the next few days.

The soft-spoken Olympian gave a heartfelt thank you to Vaiala Beach’s School principal, Lorraine Williams and the staff.

But she especially acknowledged the students efforts to raise the funds.

And the students were just as elated to see Samoa’s only Olympic medallist before their very eyes.

When Ele offered to come back and host a weightlifting clinic it was met with a resounding “YES!” from the crowd of enthusiastic students.

Students showered Ele with congratulations, taking selfies and even presented hand-crafted messages.

Overall, Samoa’s Olympian medallist could not be any happier.
