Over 300 members of the Afega Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (CCCS) will have the opportunity to attend church in a newly renovated church building.

The launch of the church building was part of the church’s 50th anniversary celebration since its establishment in 1968. The celebrations lasted two days.

An Ava ceremony was conducted at the church hall last Thursday to officially begin the program, which was hosted by chiefs, members of the congregation residing locally and abroad.

A church service was held on the following day to bless both the 50th birthday and the launch of their newly renovated church building. The ceremony was led by Reverend Elder Fili Matalavea.

The project started in 2016 and ended this year cost a total of $389,936.80 according to the church.

The Afega CCCS is led by Reverend Luapene Nepo and he acknowledged everyone that contributed to the funding of the new renovations.

The CCCS church building in Afega erected in 1968, hence its 50 years celebrations.
