Life has been made easy for Malia Mateo Siafolau and her family in Vailuutai.

On Tuesday, her family received a water tank from LDS Charity, which now makes her every day family responsibilities lighter.

Since her husband passed away, Malia has had to look after her family of 11, carrying buckets load of water to cater for their family needs every day.

The mother of 11 told the Samoa Observer that her strengths were tested every day with responsibilities she had to pick up on, and as her children, they also helped out with carrying the load.

At a stage in life, they were fortunate to receive gallons to collect water in whenever it rained, but they would often have to pay a truck to refill them.

“As a mother, you put your family first and that means providing for them. With the help of my kids we were able to manage and help develop our living standards. We have built two other homes,” Malia said.

“We are grateful for the donation from LDS Charities because we have a big family and water is always needed. With our new water tank I know it will help our family tremendously.”
