Year 13 student Glenis Ah Far Williams has done it again at the L.D.S. Church College Pesega—she is the 2018 valedictorian.

She has attended the college for the last six years and last year she was the top student overall for Year 12.

There was silence when deputy principal Brother Elisara talked about the Year 13 awards, and the students broke into a roar when he announced Glenis as the valedictorian for this year.

Proud parents Rosann Ah Far Williams and Efi Williams followed relatives and friends down the isle to place a candy lei on her.

Her grandmother Neta Latwer Wulf was on hand to witness the occasion and hugged her granddaughter with tears of joy.

Speaking to Samoa Observer, Glenis she said the biggest challenge she faced in school was the increasing workload brought on by assignments. But through prayer she was able to prioritise her work, and manage her studies to get the desired results.

While she is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she said being a student at Pesega ensured there was positive influence throughout her education, especially her spiritual growth.

“I would like to thank my whole family who have supported my education, all of my tutors who helped throughout this year and last year and especially my parents for all they continue to do for me,” she said.

“I would like to dedicate these awards to our Heavenly Father because he has always been there and he been at the center of my education.”

Glenis will present her valedictorian speech tomorrow for the Year 13 College Graduates of 2018.
