BETWEEN THE LINES

Fiji Airways delay

A flight from Fiji to Samoa yesterday was among the flights affected by delays at Nadi International Airport.

The culprit?

Well it had nothing to do with Fiji.

Fiji Airways had apparently issued an advisory that its flight operations to the region would be impacted due to a significant ash cloud caused by the Mount Aoba Volcanic Eruption in Vanuatu.

The good news is that flights were allowed to resume yesterday.

But with the volcano continuing, there could be some more delays.

So stay tuned!

Flight door issue

Passengers on an Air NZ flight to Samoa recently had to wait a while on the plane after it had touched down at Faleolo International Airport.

The problem was that they were trying to latch the mobile stairs to the doorway.

It’s not the first time it has happened.

In any case, they eventually managed to fix it and passengers were more than happy to finally get off.

State of affairs

at Moto’otua

The report by a Cabinet-appointed Commission of Inquiry into the merger between the Ministry of Health and the National Health Services has apparently been handed to Cabinet.

BTL was told it was presented to the Prime Minister and the key people last week.

What they do with it now remains to be seen.

It would certainly be interesting to see what the Commission says about the state of affairs at Moto’otua.

Stay tuned!

P.M’s tea

invitation

Just how keen is Prime Minister Tuilaepa on the new political party?

Well he has invited them to his office for a chat.

During his media conference, he issued an open invitation for the leadership of the party to drop by his office.

He said he wants to have tea with them, adding that he has plenty of Chinese tea they could share while they discuss their future plans.

So there you go Samoa First, what say you?
