Round one leader, Alex Edge, has maintained his three shot lead heading into the final round of the Invest Samoa Open.

Edge recorded a second round of four under par 68 to sit at thirteen under par and three shots clear of Queensland’s Michael Wright.

Heavy rain suspended play mid-way through the round however edge maintained his composure, playing the back nine in three under par.

“I’ve played a fair bit in the tropics this year having played in Papua New Guinea and Tahiti so you get used to all conditions” explained Edge.

In the Invest Samoa Senior Open, three time former Samoa Senior Open champion Richard Backwell holds a three stroke lead thanks to a second round of five under par to sit at eleven under par. Victorian Tim Elliott sits in second position on minus eight.

Amatuer Samu Ropati leads the National Championship with a two round total of three-under par. In second place is Van Wright a further five strokes back.
