Man charged over P.M. attack
Australian Police have charged a man who yelled abuse and threw meat and eggs while Prime Minister Dr Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi was speaking at a Brisbane church hall, reports Australian Associated Press.
The 41-year-old is accused of interrupting a meeting at St Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Parish, in Marsden, on November 14, where he yelled abuse and threw food before fleeing.
The Prime Minister was speaking at the official launching of a Brisbane-Apia service, a spokesman for the Samoan government says.
"He was there to launch the inaugural first flight," the spokesman said.
The Prime Minister’s safety was never threatened, he said.
The Riverview man will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 10 charged with committing public nuisance.
