Local civil engineering and media firm, O.S.M Investments, officially opened the doors of its new office premises, O.S.M Headquarters, at Lotopa, yesterday.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi declared the office opened with the ribbon jointly cut by Lottie Fata, Laufaleaina Toafa Eli, Luamanuvae Taylor and Tutaitaga Mariner.

O.S.M Investments, which trades under its two Divisions, O.S.M Consultants and OneLook Communications, was established in 2002 from humble beginnings within the owners’ home.

Then it moved to Nia Mall, and then for the last 10 years at the Tavita Chan Tung Building, Pesega.

But now, it finally has a $2 million building and a ¾ acre property to call its own.

“We praise God for bringing us this far and that we’ve been able to have our own building. It has not been without its challenges but it has all been worth it in the end,” said Vui Sebastian Mariner, Managing Director of O.S.M.

“This building is a testament of God’s love and faithfulness.”

The company is owned by the husband and wife team of Vui and Shorley Mariner. O.S.M is an acronym for the couple’s two daughters’ names, Olisana and Okalani, along with their first and last names.

The new office building boasts a range of unique features.

This includes glass from the old Fale Fono or Parliament House, obtained from demolition sales, which have been cut from the original glass sheets to form glass paneled walls for the conference rooms. Surplus glass panels were also used to build a long working glass table in the internet cafeteria with working glass tables for OneLook Communications production staff.

The building also uses 3D wall art decoration tiles all throughout.  These tiles are made from Bargasse, a residue of sugarcane production, and the product is 100% recyclable.

In 2009, O.S.M branched out into OneLook Communications, a media, communications and language company headed by former journalist, Laufaleaina Lesa.

The new building houses a state-of-the-art production studio that OneLook plans to use to full capacity in terms of sound recording and other types of production.

O.S.M HQ was designed by O.S.M Consultants and constructed over a period of 12 months by Schwalger Design Build Limited.

“We are so grateful for the help and support of all our families, friends, business partners and clients. We would not be where we are today as a business, and celebrating this milestone, without their patronage whether it be financial, moral or through their prayers. Thank you so much,” said Shorley Mariner, Co-Director of O.S.M.

O.S.M, which employs 10 permanent staff and other subcontractors from time to time, is proud to be a wholly owned and operated Samoan company.
