Between the lines

YOU’RE THE BEST!

Admiration and thanks to the school pupils, supervised by teachers, for manning the pedestrian crossings near schools and keeping their many fellow students  and drivers safe on our roads.

We haven’t heard of any accidents around these areas in the mornings and afternoons when these children do school patrols throughout the school terms.

And we’re not sure if the students get any tangible rewards from L.T.A. but if they don’t, perhaps the C.E.O. of that organization might look into allocating a ‘thank you’ from out of our registration fees etc.

Let’s recognize their excellent record of safety. We’re sure this would be a popular decision with our community.

LOYALTY TO OUR COUNTRY

How very cool to find out that many of the Samoa Airways flights to and from our country are already sold out! The price for these inaugural flights is obviously an immediate winner and if, as an insider to the company has told us, the low prices will continue, beyond the start up and Christmas period, it raises some interesting issues.

We have been assured that low prices will continue and S.A. will still be able to fulfill the costs associated with leases and fuel.

Which begs the question, why have the other airlines, Virgin and Air New Zealand fobbed off queries in the past about high fares to and from Samoa when we know the planes are almost always full?

And if those two airlines suddenly do drop their fares just to counter S.A. what does that say about them?

And ask yourself, who will you choose to fly with?

Airlines who have known they could ask almost any price because of our geographical situation or our own country’s airline which is going to compete with these ‘global corporations’?

SUPPORTING EACH OTHER?

Oh my goodness, it’s great to have the P.M. back in town!

The unassailable master at finessing or deflecting any tricky situation.

When he claims he and his colleagues just help fill our newspapers re the report by an M.P. of murmurings in the Party ranks, we’re wondering if he is angling for a thank you from us?

If so, here it comes, thank you.

However as we have raised many times previously, we would much rather fill our newspapers with Auditor’s Reports and truthful explanations and the future plans for the defunct, costly buildings and premises eg Aleipata Wharf, Samoa Land Corporation headquarters at Tuanaimato etc

Then he would really get a sincere and heartfelt thank you from us and we could ignore whatever is NOT going on at H.R.P.P.
