Hot weather and cold beer makes Samoa a winner

Phillip Cook of Auckland New Zealand is no stranger to Samoa.

On the island for business, he has been travelling back and forth for years.

The Dear Tourist caught up with Mr. Cook yesterday while he was walking on Beach Road heading back to Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel where he is staying.

“I’m only here for four days this time but I’ll try and make the most of it,” he said.

“I have been travelling to Samoa so many times now and every time I come over the place is improving in so many ways.”

“The people are just beautiful and very friendly and we don’t get that back home.”

“I always enjoy whenever I come here even if it’s just a short period of time.”

“It’s different from home, the environment, the people and especially the weather.”

“At the moment it’s freezing and wet back home so it’s good to come to a place where it’s warm and the sun is shining.”

Asked for his opinion on what needs to improve for Samoa to get more tourists, he said: “Well, I guess Samoa needs to have more restaurants.”

“I know for a fact that all the tourists that come here have money and they will be looking for places to spend their money on so I recommend having more restaurants.”

“I also recommend Samoa to have craft beer like back home because that has become popular back home so I guess those two ideas will help with the economy and people will come and spend their money on.”

“My favourite beer is Vailima and I enjoy it every time I come here and I think it’s the only local beer I have tasted.”

“It’s different from the beers back home because I usually drink Heineken and craft beer but they are expensive so coming here and enjoying the taste of Vailima is just good and saves money as well.”

Mr. Cook went on to say that he will definitely recommend Samoa to his friends and families.

“I’m planning to bring my family for a holiday instead of business,” he told the Dear Tourist.

“I want to spend more days here and visit the other side of the island but I wanted to do it together with my family.”

“But there is nothing negative that I can say about Samoa because it is what it is and tourists enjoy it very much whenever they come here.”
