The Police have made no arrests in connection with the death of Sa’u Justina Sa’u.

This has been confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Papali’i Monalisa Keti, in response to questions from the Samoa Observer.

The Unit Trust of Samoa (U.T.O.S.) longest serving Chief Executive Officer of Apolima-uta and Sinamoga was found dead on Sunday morning.

“To date there has been no arrest and this case is being treated as a homicide. Also we have yet to confirm when the autopsy will take place as it is unclear when pathologist will arrive in the country."

“The Attorney General’s Office is in charge of making the request for the pathologist,” said Papali’i.

The Deputy Commissioner said the investigation into the death of the high ranking government official is a priority to the Government.

“This case is being prioritised by the relevant parties and to date the investigation is still underway. We have been questioning everybody.”

The Deputy Commissioner refused to indicate or give details on the people who have been questioned.

According to a police statement issued, in the early morning of Sunday 21st of October 2018 at 4.00am, a call was received from T.T.M. hospital reporting that a 43-year-old female was brought to the hospital and she was declared dead upon arrival.

The police say they are not ruling out foul play.
