The Assemblies of God (A.O.G.) in Samoa is holding its 49th District Conference this week.

The conference, which started at the beginning of the week, highlighted the Feast of Restoration.

Seventy-eight Pentecostal fellowship churches are all under the umbrella of A.O.G. in Samoa alone, which is headed by Superintendent Pastor Joe Amosa.

Pastor Joe Amosa said part of the conference will be the General Election to decide the new council.

The positions up for grabs include Superintendent, Treasurer, Secretary, assistant and three Presbyters for A.O.G. in Samoa.

The appointments are for a two-year term.

“I am satisfied with the work that I have achieved in the time of my reign,” Pastor Amosa said.

“My main objective was for the encouragement of everyone to work together in faith. In every leadership role, it comes with great responsibilities but along with it hardships.”

But with anything in life, there are always challenges.

“One difficulty I faced was that everyone had different opinions, views and perspectives, so some would not agree with decisions made,” he said.

“Another difficulty was time management where it required me to work not only in Samoa but also overseas.”

But Pastor Amosa is grateful for God’s leading and the work of the Holy Spirit within the church. He is also optimistic that with God as the head of the church, it is in good hands.

As an international fellowship, the member denominations are entirely independent and autonomous.

However, they are united by shared beliefs and history.

The five-day conference closes today.
