The Chinese Ambassador Wang Xuefeng visited three schools, this week.

He was accompanied by the Minister of Revenue, Tialavea Tionisio Hunt.

The schools visited were St. Peters School at Falefa, Taelefaga Primary School and Lona Primary School at Fagaloa.

There, Mr. Wang donated lawnmowers and sports equipment to these three schools.

Ambassador Wang and his good lady, Madame Tong Xin were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers of the schools.

At St. Peters, in particular, Ambassador Wang was honored with the ava ceremony, the National Flag raising ceremony, the singing of the National Anthem of Samoa.

Ambassador Wang delivered warm remarks at the ceremony and expressed his best wishes to all the teachers and students of the school.

“St. Peters School is in such a beautiful location surrounded by the beautiful mountains and the beautiful ocean,” he said.

“Just now I got to know that St. Peters is a school with over 100 years history and Hon. Minister Mr. Hunt himself studied at this school in 1960s. I am happy to see that the school is so well managed and students are so polite, so earnest and so well-disciplined.”

“We are happy to bring to you some lawnmowers (weed eaters), footballs, volleyballs and rugby. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, I would like to express our best wishes to all of you at St. Peters School. We hope these weed eaters would help make your school more beautiful, and you have more exercises through playing football, volleyball and rugby.”

“China and Samoa have been long-time great friends. We cherish the friendship between our two peoples and we hope that this friendship would pass from generation to generation, just as our forebears have done in the past decades. Boys and girls, I hope you study hard and grow up to be useful talents because you are the future of your family, your community and your nation.”

“I also hope that with the knowledge you learn from school, you become the friendly envoy between China and Samoa in the future and make more contribution to China-Samoa friendship.”

The principals and P.T.A. representatives of the three schools expressed their thanks to Chinese Embassy.
