Mother on law of sowing and reaping

Forty-five-year-old mother of seven, Tai Molimau, believes in sacrifice and hard work.

The Village Voice team approached her while on her way home from work on Friday.

“I work at one of the families at Nu’u Fou,” she said.

“It’s good enough for me because it’s not far from home, because my place is just around the corner.”

“So I walk home after work everyday and you know it saves money especially when you don’t pay bus fares.”

Her husband also contributes towards their financial needs.

“My husband also works and we both provide for our family especially my five older kids who are still in school, while the other two stay home (they’re young).”

“That’s why my husband and I still work because we need a better future for our children even though most of them are still in school.”

“But we always try to make sure that they attend school and never go hungry. I believe that most parents are on the same track.”

She said parents should understand that whatever they sowed they’ll reap.

“This is so true because it is also stated in the Bible, and we all know that God’s word never changes.”

“And if we walk by it He will surely bless us,” Tai said.

She said knowing our role as parents was very important.

“As parents, everything you do should be about advancing the interests of your family especially your children’s education,” Tai said. “Not on bingo and alcohol, we have to make our children as our first priority and that’s the truth.”

She said leading by example also helped our children understand that life nowadays was getting harder and more difficult but they needed to keep working.

“They need to make use of their parents’ hard work, not just to be there at school but they need to see thestruggles most parents are living now nowadays.”

“They also need to know that they have a part to play as well, not just attend school and that is it. No, our children need to look the other way around, and that’s the challenge that I always put to my children everyday.”
