Church opens Annual General Assembly
The Annual General Assembly of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa’s annual conference starts today.
Chairman Revered Elder Tauti’aga Senara will open the meeting.
Prior to the meeting today, hundreds of church members gathered at the Jubilee Church yesterday for the opening service.
The service was conducted by Rev. Elder Liki Tiatia.
According to sources within the church, one of the many issues to be discussed is the call from church members for the mother church to pay former General Secretary, Dr. Afereti Uili from the time he was stripped of all his roles over an allegation of a sexual nature made by a woman.
The Supreme Court’s decision to give consent by judgment as a result of mediation between the two parties ended the longstanding fight by Rev. Afereti to clear his name.
