(Press Release) 08 July, 2017 - The first, two-day Tutor/Teacher training for Samoa Badminton Federation kicked off last Tuesday morning at Hotel Insel Fehmarn.

The training is delivered by Badminton Oceania with support from Chris McIvor and Donna Trow of Badminton New Zealand.

Local Trainer and sports administrator Nynette Sass is the Samoan coordinator of this training event. The group include teachers from Upolu and Savaii as well as community groups who are keen to deliver the Shuttle Time training program sessions and learn more about the game of badminton.

The training included team sessions using a state of the art computer training app and team building exercises during the first day, before the trainees would eventually venture out to put their theory to practical use.

The sessions were highly interactive and full of fun, which is key facilitation of learning.

The group got the opportunity on Wednesday to deliver sessions to local children who have signed up to learn the basics of Badminton’s Shuttle Time. The extensive workout involving training programs and activities to the fledgling stars of Samoan Badminton was held at the NUS gymnasium.
