Women donate $1million as church celebrates Jubilee opening

The mothers and women of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa has donated $1million as a gift for the Jubilee Church.

The donation was presented to the church on Thursday when the congregation opened the $17.3million project at Malua.

The money was among a host of gifts presented to the church when the membership came together to celebrate the opening of the project.

The  official opening was attended by the Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, Members of the Council of Deputies, Parliamentarians, members of the business community and hundreds of guests.

The Masiofo, Her Highness Filifilia Tamasese cut the ribbon while the Chairman of the Church, Reverend Elder Tautiaga Senara conducted the service.

Prior to the official opening, traditional formalities took up most of the morning where money, fine mats and other gifts were exchanged.
