Health warning alert about Tui Cable site

A resident of Vaivase-tai has sounded a health warning over the location of the Tui Samoa Cable in the area.

Sagauga To’omalatai Uta’ileuo contacted the Samoa Observer to express his concerns.

He claims to be an “expert in the field of technology innovations” and that he fears for the lives of people living around their district, especially children.

He is worried about the dangers of the Tui-Samoa Cable, saying it can affect “many lives in a silent way that no one would notice.”

Sagauga claims to have worked the U.S. Air force for many years. For that reason he claims he has enough knowledge about the effects of these cable lines on people.

He is worried about radiation and how the frequency from the cable could impact on the lives of residents.

“My concern basically lies in the location of this new technological innovation,” he said.

“I don’t oppose it but I am concerned because most school buildings are located around here. I believe that half of the population do not have a clear understanding of what these cables can do to their lives.”

“So I will not just stand on the side and do nothing because I know what these things can do and I care for our people and the people living in my district.

“From my past experience, these cables have very strong particles that no human being can see. They travel through unseen waves…I know the implementation of this Cable will bring many benefits but is it safe for people around here?”

The concerned citizen urged the Samoa Cable Company to consider safety measures to protect residents living nearby.

He added that perhaps the Cable station should be developed on an isolated island to prevent any potentially harmful exposure to people.

“Speaking from experience, I know cases like these are very hard to describe because people can be easily manipulated by the different programmes that this cable can offer.

“But what they don’t know is these cables can cause health problems, even death. I have seen people suffer with different diseases caused by these technological sites, and that is why I am worried about this development situated here.

“We may not see it now, but in the future we will… because a disease caused by the radiation and frequencies from theTui Cable takes time to develop, but when it takes place it is incurable.

“Yes, our government can earn much money from this Cable project but the lives of people are more important

“We only have one life from God therefore please reconsider moving this company somewhere else. We have children growing up and they are the future of our country.”

It was not possible to get a comment from the Cable company yesterday.
