One of Samoa’s most wanted men has been captured.

The Police has confirmed that Pati Chong Nee, who was wanted by the Police as a suspect in a series of criminal activities, was caught this morning.

“The Samoa Police Service (S.P.S.) wishes to inform the public that PATI CHONG NEE who was wanted by police has been captured this morning as a result of the information relay by the public to police,” a statement said.

“S.P.S. acknowledges members of the public for their ongoing support in relation to this matter. Working together for a safer Samoa.”

Chong Nee, 24, is a suspect in an alleged crime spree where he broke into several houses at Ululoloa last week.

The Samoa Observer understands that one of the houses he burgled was the Newton family’s house. It is not the first time the Newtons have been affected by criminals.

“The other house he broke into, he took some guns and fine mats,” the Police told the Samoa Observer.

“As you know Mr. Chong Nee was in prison before for burglary and theft, so this is his criminal history. He also escaped several times while in prison. It hasn’t been a year since he came out and now he has reoffended.
