People share different views about blessings.

Some say you have to work for them, others say you have to serve others and in return you will be blessed.

For Eseta Noaliu of Saoluafata, she believes in getting her blessings from her parents – especially her elderly mother.

Eseta caught up with the Village voice yesterday while fetching coconuts to make a fa’alifu for their afternoon meal.

“Personally, if you don’t have that heart of love for your family, you won’t make it anywhere in life,” she said.

“I am looking after my mother at home and this is my everyday job.”

“Actually it’s my favorite job making sure she’s okay. I make sure she is alright by cooking and looking after her.”

Eseta said it doesn’t matter how old she becomes, she will always be taking care of her parents.

“While everyone is at work and school, I make sure my mother is okay. As you can see, I’m getting some coconuts for the saka.”

Aside from looking after her mother Eseta is also helping care for her sibling’s children.

“It’s not just my mother at home. The good thing is, schools are on a break and the kids get to stay with my mother while I’m fixing her meals.”

Eseta is a single woman.

“Love is the best thing to have in life,” she sai.

“I tell you, no matter how hard life gets, it somehow becomes easy when we have love in our hearts.”
