”As a mother, you know your family needs you and they need you not just to provide but also to nurture them,” said 44-year old Meki of Fasito’o uta.

It is the providing part that worries Taliilagi.

Now, she is a one happy woman as she was offered a job from an elderly woman to take care of her

Village Voice caught up with her yesterday as she just got home from work

“I am extremely happy and thankful because I didn’t expect it to happen this fast.”

“To the Samoa Observer’s Village Voice team, I am beyond grateful for the your writing in the paper. It is through your work that I was able to get a job

“To be honest, when I received a phone call about getting a job, the only thing that came into my mind was that maybe the Village Voice people coming to my place was God’s way of blessing my family.”

“Praise God for His many ways of showing us that He will never leave our side, even when we fail many times,” she said

The mother of six is now employed by an elderly woman, Gaualofa Vaai Papu of Vaivase Tai.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Gaualofa Vaai Papu for your considerate concern to employ me. It is through your warm heart that you have given me this rare opportunity to work for you… I am beyond blessed to share it.”

“The job that was offered to me is to take Gaualofa to the hospital for her daily checkups and look after the shop…”

“I get paid $200 a week, it is more than I expected … now I am no longer worried about how to provide for my family.”

“I am speechless, I don’t have the right words to explain how extremely grateful I am right now.

“All I can offer is to pray for you and may God bless your beautiful soul.”

Gaualofa read Samoa Observer’s daily paper and she was impressed by their news stories and decided to employ Taliilagi.

She stated that there were other females but she decided to give Taliilagi a chance as she looked like a woman who is honest and could do well in the job.
